SIEFL (School for Investor Education & Financial Literacy)

NISM is keen to enhance the levels of financial literacy in India. There are three programmes in NISM that address financial education:

1. Financial education in schools: NISM intends to introduce financial education in schools. A pilot programme to cover about 15000 school children in class VIII and IX has been prepared. This pilot programme is expected to be introduced in 110 schools in New Delhi under the National Progressive Schools Conference.
2. NISM is planning to introduce a dedicated website for Investor Education. It is expected that this website will be available from September 2009.
3. Investor workshops in the face-to-face format. This is a half-a-day module. These workshops are being conducted in various towns and cities.
